exhibition criteria details, hanging guidance, framing guides, copyright guidance, and more. . .
Broadlanders Art Club 'Framing for Exhibiting' & 'Copyright' Guide.
1) Pictures should be sympathetically mounted and framed dependant upon medium used. (This will enhance and substantiate the quality of your work).
2) The framing should be complete:- ie Watercolour and similar media should be tape-sealed at the back. Suitable screw eyes and picture cord should be attached. (As a general rule of thumb, the screw eyes should be fitted approximately one third of the picture height down the left and right side from the top – this allows a natural hanging balance.)
3) Provision must be made on the reverse of your framed exhibit (gummed label) to display your picture title, medium used, your name, address and telephone number – prior to registration.
Please note: Pictures not complying with these rules will not be accepted for exhibition.
Please bear in mind the rules of copyright.
Below is a paragraph taken fron the internet site www.copyrightservice.co.uk/copyright/copyright-myths .
The act of copying or adapting someone else’s work is a breach of copyright. Also, any adaptation will be legally regarded as a derived work; so if you simply adapt the work of others, it will still be their work, and they have every right to object, (and are also entitled to any money you may make from their work).
The only safe option is to create something that is not copied or adapted from the work of others.
There is nothing to stop you being inspired by the work of others, but when it comes to your own work, start with a blank sheet and do not try to copy what others have done.
Check out these 'Demo' & 'Step by Step' sites, we will change these fairly regularly so pop back & take a fresh look.

Sole Artistic Rights Reference Materials
We are taking this opportunity of writing to you to let you know that we offer a service of supplying Reference Material to Artists for a small cost.
We are fortunate to live in the middle of the world famous Lost Gardens of Heligan so are able to supply images showing the gardens in a different light from what the public see, i.e., early morning misty shots, evening sunsets and snow.
We have a back catalogue of some 43,000 (and growing) images of birds, animals, scenes, insects, flowers, etc. all taken in the UK.
Please take a few moments to look at our website to see the diversity and quality of the images we have to offer. Obviously our website only shows a small proportion of our catalogue of images. If you are looking for a specific image please contact us with your requirements and we will endeavour to match them
Look forward to hearing from you.
